Domestic pepper prices: Increased by more than 10,000 VND/kg
As of 11:30 today (8. 28), the domestic pepper market continued to increase by VND 2,000/kg, an average of VND 150,700/kg. Currently, the price still fluctuates between 149,500 - 152,000 VND/kg.
Despite an increase of VND1,900/kg, Gia Lai province is still the area where pepper is purchased at the lowest price in the country.
The two provinces of Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City both increased by VND 2,000/kg compared to the previous session, listed at VND 150,000/kg.
Meeting the 152,000 VND/kg mark of Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces, compared to the price announced on July 14, 2025, this region has increased by 13,400 VND/kg. This price continued to peak after 4 months, starting from May 12 when pepper prices exceeded 151,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: fluctuating in many regions
In the world market, pepper prices have stabilized after many fluctuations. In particular, the Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets continued to decrease by 0.48% and 0.49%. Currently, these two items are traded between 7,262 - 10,093 USD/ton (equivalent to 192,705 VND/kg - 267,828 VND/kg).
After the price increase, the Brazilian market suddenly stood still, trading at 6,400 USD/ton (about 169,831 VND/kg). In the same direction, Malaysia's black and white pepper prices remained in the high price range, reaching 12,800 USD/ton and 9,600 USD/ton.
In the pepper export market of Vietnam, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains unchanged, anchored at 6,240 - 6,370 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices remained unchanged after a surprising increase of 2.19%, standing at 9,150 USD/ton (equivalent to 242,805 VND/kg).
