Domestic pepper prices: Extending the increase
As of 11:30 today (8.23), the domestic pepper market has increased prices in some areas, averaging VND 144,700/kg. Currently, the price still fluctuates between 143,500 - 146,000 VND/kg.
Purchasing pepper at the lowest price is Gia Lai, reaching 143,500 VND/kg, although an increase of 1,000 VND/kg.
Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City and Lam Dong are the 3 provinces with unchanged pepper prices compared to the previous session, listed at 144,000 VND/kg - 146,000 VND/kg respectively.
Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai both set the mark of 144,000 VND/kg. However, the increase range is different, increasing by 1,000 VND/kg and 3,000 VND/kg respectively.
Meanwhile, Dak Lak continued to increase by VND 1,000/kg, remaining at VND 146,000/kg.
World pepper prices: Strong fluctuations in most regions
In the world market, pepper prices have fluctuated in many areas. In particular, the Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets, has increased and decreased alternately. Currently, these two items are traded between 7,129 - 9,966 USD/ton (equivalent to 189,062 VND/kg - 264,299 VND/kg), both down 0.35%.
On the other hand, the Brazilian market remained unchanged, trading at $6,000/ton (about 159,120 VND/kg). Malaysia's black and white rice maintained the high price zone after a strong increase, reaching 12,800 USD/ton and 9,600 USD/ton.
In the pepper export market of Vietnam, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains unchanged, anchored at 6,240 - 6,370 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices remained at 8,950 USD/ton (equivalent to 237,354 VND/kg).
