Domestic pepper prices: Rising, reaching new price points
As of 11:30 today (8. 27), the domestic pepper market increased sharply by VND 1,900/kg, an average of VND 148,700/kg. Currently, the price still fluctuates between 147,600 - 150,000 VND/kg.
Despite an increase of VND1,600/kg, Gia Lai province is still the area where pepper is purchased at the lowest price in the country.
The two provinces of Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City increased sharply by VND 2,000/kg, both listed at VND 148,000/kg.
Meeting the 150,000 VND/kg mark of Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces, compared to the price announced on July 14, 2025, this region has increased by 11,400 VND/kg. This is also the highest price after 4 months, as of May 12 when pepper prices exceeded 151,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: fluctuating in many regions
In the world market, pepper prices have fluctuated in many areas. In particular, the Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets - continuously reversed to increase and decrease. Currently, these two items are traded between 7,297 - 10,142 USD/ton (equivalent to 193,590 VND/kg - 269,068 VND/kg), down 0.13% and 0.14%, respectively.
After a period of stagnation, the Brazilian market increased prices by 1.56%, trading at 6,400 USD/ton (about 169,792 VND/kg). On the other hand, Malaysia's black and white pepper prices remained in the high price range, reaching 12,800 USD/ton and 9,600 USD/ton.
In the pepper export market of Vietnam, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains unchanged, anchored at 6,240 - 6,370 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices unexpectedly increased by 2.19%, standing at 9,150 USD/ton (equivalent to 242,750 VND/kg).
