Domestic pepper prices: Price drop
As of 11:00 AM today (January 3rd), domestic pepper prices have decreased in some areas, averaging 150,200 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 149,000 - 151,000 VND/kg.
Some provinces and cities reduced from 500 - 1,000 VND/kg, the price list of regions is currently as follows:
Gia Lai province stabilizes and lists prices at 150,000 VND/kg.
Ho Chi Minh City had the strongest decrease of up to 1,000 VND/kg, down to 150,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak and Lam Dong both decreased by 500 VND/kg, anchored at the threshold of 151,000 VND/kg.
Dong Nai slightly decreased by 500 VND/kg, bringing the market to the milestone of 149,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: Same trend
In the world market, pepper prices fell in some countries. The Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets - fell. These two items traded in the range of 6,761 - 9,202 USD/ton (equivalent to 178,335 VND/kg - 242,722 VND/kg), down 2 USD/ton and 3 USD/ton respectively.
In the same direction, the Brazilian market is currently at 6,100 USD/ton (about 160,900 VND/kg). Meanwhile, black and white peppers are traded at 12,000 USD/ton and 9,000 USD/ton.
Notably, in Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l maintains a price range of 6,500 - 6,700 USD/ton. The current ASTA white pepper price is at 9,250 USD/ton (equivalent to 243,988 VND/kg).

Perspectives and forecasts
According to estimates by the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Vietnam's pepper exports in December 2025 are estimated to reach 20,000 tons, worth 132 million USD, a fairly strong increase of 11% in volume and 11.1% in value compared to the previous month, while continuing to increase by 35.7% in volume and 35.2% in value compared to the same period last year.
In general, in 2025, the volume of pepper exports is estimated at 243 thousand tons, with an estimated value of about 1.64 billion USD. Compared to the same period last year, pepper exports decreased by 2.6% but the value increased by 24.9%.
This is a new record for Vietnam's pepper industry when it is about 327 million USD higher than in 2024 and far exceeds the record recorded in 2016 of 1.42 billion USD.
