Domestic pepper prices: Unchanged
As of 11:30 AM today (May 5), domestic pepper prices continued to stand still, averaging 142,500 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 140,000 - 14,000 VND/kg.
Domestic pepper prices have mostly remained unchanged for many days, currently the listed prices in areas are as follows:
Gia Lai province traded at the 140,000 VND/kg mark, slightly down 500 VND/kg.
Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City respectively anchored at the thresholds of 142,500 VND/kg and 142,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak and Lam Dong offer for sale at a purchase price of 14,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: Shift to increase
In the world market, pepper prices are mostly stable in countries. The two items of black and white pepper in Indonesia reversed to increase slightly, trading in the range of 6,970 - 9,183 USD/ton (equivalent to 183,772 VND/kg - 242,119 VND/kg), increasing by 4 USD/ton and 5 USD/ton respectively.
The Brazilian market maintained an increase of 100 USD/ton, listed at 6,100 USD/ton (about 16,833 VND/kg). Meanwhile, black and white pepper remained unchanged, trading at 12,200 USD/ton and 9,300 USD/ton.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains at 6,100 - 6,200 USD/ton. In the same direction, ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 9,000 USD/ton (equivalent to 237,294 VND/kg).

Assessments and forecasts
Vietnam's pepper export activities in the first months of 2026 recorded impressive growth in volume and turnover, but faced an average downward trend in price.
According to data from the Customs Department, in the first 15 days of April 2026, Vietnam exported 14,489 tons of pepper, reaching a turnover of 91.8 million USD, an increase of 28.6% in volume and 17.3% in value compared to the same period last year. In general, from the beginning of the year to April 15, 2026, the total export volume of pepper reached 80,627 tons, equivalent to a turnover of 522.6 million USD, a sharp increase of 37.9% in volume and 29.8% in value compared to the same period in 2025.
However, the average export price recorded a downward trend. The average export price of pepper reached 6,482 USD/ton, down 5.8% compared to the same period last year. This development shows that downward pressure is present, despite the positive growth momentum in export volume.
