Domestic pepper prices: Sideways trend
As of 11:30 am today (May 4), domestic pepper prices continued to remain unchanged after the holidays, averaging 142,600 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 140,500 - 144,000 VND/kg.
Domestic pepper prices remain unchanged, currently the listed prices in regions are as follows:
Gia Lai province trades at the threshold of 140,500 VND/kg.
Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City respectively anchored at the thresholds of 142,500 VND/kg and 142,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak and Lam Dong offer for sale at a purchase price of 14,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: Unchanged
In the world market, pepper prices remained unchanged in most countries. The two items of black and white pepper in Indonesia reversed to decrease, trading in the range of 6,966 - 9,178 USD/ton (equivalent to 183,680 VND/kg - 242,006 VND/kg).
The Brazilian market maintained an increase of 100 USD/ton, listed at 6,100 USD/ton (about 16,845 VND/kg). Meanwhile, black and white pepper remained unchanged, trading at 12,200 USD/ton and 9,300 USD/ton.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains at 6,100 - 6,200 USD/ton. In the same direction, ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 9,000 USD/ton (equivalent to 237,312 VND/kg).

Assessments and forecasts
The fact that the market has maintained a sideways state for many consecutive sessions shows the cautious psychology of both growers and purchasing businesses.
However, the current price list is also the highest price level since the first week of March when the price range exceeded the threshold of 145,000 VND/kg. The increase in domestic pepper prices last week helped narrow the gap between the peak level set from the beginning of January 2026 of 151,500 VND/kg.
In the short term, pepper prices are likely to continue to fluctuate in a narrow range. The price increase momentum will depend on export demand in the coming time, especially from major markets.
