Domestic pepper prices: Continue to be flat
As of 11:30 am today (May 6), domestic pepper prices continued to remain unchanged, averaging 142,500 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 140,000 - 14,000 VND/kg.
Domestic pepper prices have maintained a stable price range for many days, currently the listed prices in regions are as follows:
Gia Lai province trades at the 140,000 VND/kg mark.
Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City respectively anchored at the thresholds of 142,500 VND/kg and 142,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak and Lam Dong offer for sale at a purchase price of 14,000 VND/kg. This is also the highest price in the entire region.
World pepper prices: reverse to decline
In the world market, pepper prices are mostly stable in countries. Especially black and white peppers in Indonesia reversed to increase slightly, trading in the range of 6,947 - 9,153 USD/ton (equivalent to 183,165 VND/kg - 241,328 VND/kg), respectively decreasing by 23 USD/ton and 30 USD/ton.
The Brazilian market maintained an increase of 100 USD/ton, listed at 6,100 USD/ton (about 16,833 VND/kg). Meanwhile, black and white pepper remained unchanged, trading at 12,200 USD/ton and 9,300 USD/ton.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains at 6,100 - 6,200 USD/ton. In the same direction, ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 9,000 USD/ton (equivalent to 237,294 VND/kg).

Assessments and forecasts
According to the latest report from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in April 2026, our country exported 29,000 tons of pepper of all kinds, earning 183.6 million USD. Accumulated in the first 4 months of this year, businesses exported 95,100 tons of pepper, with a value of 614.4 million USD.
Accordingly, our country's exports of this item increased sharply by 29.2% in volume and 20.9% in value compared to the same period in 2025, although the average price decreased by 6.4%.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment also said that the US, Germany and Thailand are the three largest pepper consumption markets of Vietnam, accounting for market shares of 29.8%, 6.6% and 5.2% respectively.
