Domestic pepper prices: Reversal to decrease
As of 11:30 today (31.8), domestic pepper prices are trading in the range of 150,000 - 152,000 VND/kg, an average increase and decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to last week depending on the region.
At the end of last week, Gia Lai was the only province to decrease by VND 1,000/kg compared to last week, down to VND 150,000/kg. This is currently the lowest price on the market.
On the contrary, pepper prices in Dak Lak and Lam Dong recorded an increase of VND 1,000/kg, reaching VND 152,000/kg.
Other localities such as Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City generally have 151,000 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous week.

World pepper prices: fluctuating in many regions
According to the International Pepper Company (IPC), Indonesia's black pepper prices closed last week at 7,087 USD/ton, down 129 USD/ton compared to last week. At the same time of the survey, the price of Indonesian white pepper increased by 14 USD/ton last week, reaching 10,042 USD/ton.
Similarly, the price of ASTA Malaysia black and white pepper last week remained unchanged, at 9,700 USD/ton and 12,900 USD/ton, respectively.
Meanwhile, the price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper increased by 200 USD/ton, to 6,600 USD/ton.
In particular, black pepper exported by Vietnam remained unchanged throughout the week at 6,240 - 6,370 USD/ton for the 500 g/l and 550 g/l types. In the same direction, Vietnamese white pepper had a week of maintaining at 9,150 USD/ton.
