Domestic pepper prices: Sudden price drop
As of 11:30 today (September 4), the domestic pepper market simultaneously "turned around" and dropped to VND 1,600/kg, an average of VND 152,200/kg. Currently, the price ranges from 151,000 - 153,000 VND/kg.
After a series of days of anchoring at high prices, the areas are currently listed at the following prices:
Gia Lai province is the area that recorded the lowest price in the country, reaching 151,000 VND/kg, down 2,000 VND/kg compared to the previous session.
Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City decreased by 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg, bringing the price together to 152,000 VND/kg.
Meeting the 153,000 VND/kg mark of Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces, these two regions have decreased by 2,000 VND/kg and 1,000 VND/kg respectively compared to the previous session's closing price.
World pepper prices: Lower prices in some regions
In the world market, pepper prices remain unchanged in most regions. The Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets - decreased by 0.04% and 0.03%, respectively. Currently, these two items are traded between 7,093 - 10,051 USD/ton (equivalent to 188,022 VND/kg - 266,432 VND/kg).
The Brazilian market continued to be unstable, trading at 6,650 USD/ton (about 176,279 VND/kg). In the same direction, Malaysia's black and white pepper prices remained in the high price range, reaching 12,900 USD/ton and 9,700 USD/ton.
In the pepper export market of Vietnam, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains unchanged, anchored at 6,240 - 6,370 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices tend to be flat, standing at 9,150 USD/ton (equivalent to 242,549 VND/kg).
