World oil prices today
World oil prices on December 12 (Vietnam time) fluctuated in different directions. At 11:46 am, WTI crude oil was at 70.28 USD/barrel, down slightly by 0.01 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.01%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 70.29 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 70.36 USD/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $73.59 a barrel, up $0.07 a barrel, or 0.10 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $73.52 a barrel and opened today at $73.64 a barrel.
Thus, the world oil price at the end of yesterday's trading session (December 11) increased sharply by more than 2%. At today's trading session (December 12), both WTI and Brent crude oil were trading around yesterday's closing price.
According to analysts, gasoline prices have fluctuated strongly recently due to the direct impact of decisions to extend production cuts by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC+) until the end of the first quarter of 2025.
In addition, many hot political developments increased, political turmoil in Syria when rebels overthrew the government had a direct impact on world crude oil prices.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On December 12, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of December 5. Accordingly, the price of diesel oil decreased the most, by 395 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 325 VND/liter; RON 95-III gasoline decreased by 294 VND/liter. Notably, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 24 VND/liter, while fuel oil remained unchanged.

PVOIL discounts on December 12 as follows: Diesel discount (0.005S-V): 1,200 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,000 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 950 VND/liter. Applicable at PVOIL Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec An Hai, Cai Lan.
Tu Luc Petroleum discounts on December 12 as follows: Diesel discount (0.005S-V): 1,300 VND/liter; Diesel discount (0.001S-V): 1,250; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,100 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 950 VND/liter.
MIPEC gasoline discount on December 12: Diesel discount (0.005S-V): 1,300 VND/liter.
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price management period, petroleum prices may have opposite adjustments.
In particular, the price of RON 95 gasoline is forecasted to increase by about 280 VND/liter; E5 gasoline increases by about 230 VND/liter, and Diesel oil decreases by 30 VND/liter.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 22 times and decreased 26 times. Oil prices have increased 21 times and decreased 27 times.
