Recorded in the Long Tuyen ward area (Can Tho City), these days, the production atmosphere has become more bustling and urgent than ever. Gardeners are busy pumping water, transporting supplies, and taking care of stages to promptly supply customers during the full moon of the twelfth lunar month, Tet Ong Cong Ong Tao, as well as the peak of the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.
According to shares, this is the "golden" time that determines the success or failure of the crop season. To make flowers bloom in the right time, uniformly colored and durable, the care regime must be strict.

Mr. Dinh Van Khuong (Long Tuyen ward) said that gardeners must closely monitor and water regularly 3 times a day in the morning, noon and afternoon to maintain moisture and prevent plants from experiencing heat shock.
It is known that besides traditional self-cultivated varieties, most gardeners in Long Tuyen ward also proactively link up and import more types of flowers that are popular in the market such as dạ thảo apricot blossoms, chrysanthemums, dry coconut flowers... from neighboring gardens to enrich their stalls when going out in the next few days.

One worrying thing is that this year's flower crop, farmers in the Mekong Delta in general and Can Tho in particular have to face no small pressure from input costs. According to surveys, the price of fertilizers, pesticides and agricultural supplies all tend to increase sharply, some types increasing by one and a half times compared to last year. However, it is valuable that most gardeners have committed not to increase prices sharply.
Mr. Phung Van Thong - a garden owner in Long Tuyen ward - determined that he will maintain a popular price so that everyone can buy flowers to display for Tet, especially workers and laborers. A stable price both helps with consumption and is a way to share the joy of Tet with everyone.

Sharing the same mindset, Mr. Nguyen Van Truyen - owner of a paper flower garden, Long Tuyen ward - shared: "In the price range of 100,000 - 200,000 VND, there are already paper flowers to play with. We make many types, many colors, many different prices so that workers can easily choose. In general, paper flowers can be played all year round, suitable for busy people".
According to experience, this year, Mr. Truyen's paper flowers will bloom profusely and beautifully right on the occasion of Spring. He is also applying special techniques in fertilizer and water regulation to help flowers last longer and keep their fresh color longer when they reach customers.
Currently, although the flowers are ready, Mr. Truyen is still not in a hurry to "go down to the street". Explaining this "slowness", he said: "Bringing them out early only adds transportation costs and guarding labor while purchasing power is not high. I calculate that after the full moon of the twelfth lunar month, when workers and civil servants start receiving Tet bonuses, and their wallets are more stable, purchasing power will really improve".

In Pho Tho - Ba Bo flower and ornamental plant village alone, there are currently 2 cooperatives with more than 30 members working hard for the Tet crop. It is expected that the craft village will supply the market with more than 187,000 pots of flowers and ornamental plants of all kinds. The main varieties are still Taiwan chrysanthemums, marigolds, Korean chrysanthemums, hanging flowers and eustoma.

To ensure that people have a successful crop, local leaders also regularly closely monitor and grasp the situation, encouraging people to actively link consumption, improve product quality to maintain and develop the brand of traditional craft villages.
