Recorded on February 1 (the 4th day of Tet), the gold market in Ho Chi Minh City was stable, without massive buying. Most stores were still closed for Tet, a few stores were open but quite empty.
"I went to buy 2 rings to give as lucky money to my 80-year-old parents. I had to go to 2-3 places to find a gold shop that was open. The prices weren't too high and the shops weren't as crowded as before Tet," said Ms. Le Thuy Lien (living in District 4).
Today, the price of SJC gold bars is listed by DOJI Group at 86.9-88.9 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
The price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold increased more strongly. Mi Hong Company traded at the same price as gold bars at 86.7 million VND/tael for buying and 88.5 million VND/tael for selling, an increase of about 1.4 million VND/tael compared to yesterday.
According to the owner of a gold shop in District 5, many people choose to buy gold jewelry and plain rings during the first days of the new year as savings and jewelry.
The gold market mainly fluctuated in price, trading demand increased slightly but the scale was not large because many commercial banks and large gold companies were closed for Tet.
It is forecasted that from the 6th day of Tet onwards, stores will reopen and the demand for buying gold and gold jewelry will gradually increase during the God of Wealth's day.
