1. The Ministry of Justice is honored to welcome General Secretary To Lam to work on judicial and legal affairs.
On the occasion of Vietnam Law Day 2024, General Secretary To Lam had a working session with the Party Committee of the Ministry of Justice on judicial work and orientation of tasks in the coming time. At the meeting, the General Secretary acknowledged and highly appreciated the role of the Ministry and the Justice sector in building and perfecting institutions and laws.
The General Secretary has given specific directions, tasks and requirements that the Ministry of Justice must focus on implementing in the coming time in order to build a legal system that both ensures state management requirements and encourages creativity, liberates all productive forces, unlocks all resources for development, and resolutely abandons the mindset of "if you can't manage it, ban it", meeting the requirements of socio-economic development and international integration.
2. Law-making work continues to innovate, unlocking development resources
In 2024, the Ministry of Justice helped the Government propose to include in the Program, supplement the Program for law and ordinance making to submit to the National Assembly for approval 30 draft laws and draft resolutions at the 7th and 8th Sessions, the most since the beginning of the term.
2024 is also a year marking the outstanding efforts of the Ministry of Justice in appraising proposals for construction, projects, and draft legal documents.
3. The staff of the Ministry of Justice is trusted, respected and has many steps of development.
The staff of the Ministry of Justice continues to strive to cultivate and improve their ethics, expertise and professionalism; they are consolidated, improved, and given attention to planning and placement in key leadership positions at the central and local levels.
In particular, the appointment of Deputy Prime Minister, the completion of the Minister of Justice, and the approval of the title of legal officer at legal organizations of ministries, branches, and localities.
4. Ministry of Justice tops the ministerial administrative reform index (Par-index)
According to the announcement of the Government's Steering Committee for Administrative Reform on April 17, 2024, the Ministry of Justice's Administrative Reform Index returned to rank 1st out of 17 ministries. This is also the third consecutive year that the Ministry of Justice has maintained its position in the top three ministries in the ministerial-level Administrative Reform Index.
5. Civil enforcement work achieved the highest results ever
In 2024, the execution results increased steadily in all aspects with a total of more than 1 million executions.
Of which, the number of cases eligible for execution is more than 739,000, the whole system has completed more than 620,000 cases, reaching a rate of nearly 84%, collecting and handling more than 116,000 billion VND, reaching a rate of nearly 52%; recovering debts for credit institutions of more than 30,544 billion VND; recovering lost and misappropriated assets in corruption and economic cases achieved many positive results with more than 22,177 billion VND; State administrative agencies have completed the execution of 896/1,973 administrative judgments and decisions, an increase of 314 judgments and decisions compared to the same period in 2023.
6. Successfully organize the "Business and Law" Forum in 2024
The Ministry of Justice has proactively advised and proposed the Central Council for Coordinating the Dissemination and Education of Law to organize the 2024 "Business and Law" Forum with the theme "Joining hands to solve legal issues, contributing to creating a favorable investment and business environment for enterprises".
The forum was held on October 9, 2024 in a combination of in-person and online formats at 63 locations in provinces and centrally run cities, attracting more than 3,700 participants.
7. Announcement of the Vietnamese Code
On November 5, 2024, the Ministry of Justice organized the announcement of the Vietnamese Code. This is the first time our State has a Code and is the result of determination, proactiveness, efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges, and close coordination of ministries, branches and the Ministry of Justice.
8. Criminal Record Certificate issued on VNeID application nationwide
To date, 63/63 Departments of Justice have implemented the issuance of Criminal Record Certificates on the VNeID application and have been positively received by the people. During more than 2 months of pilot implementation, people across the country have been able to access and use the Criminal Record Certificate issuance service on the VNeID application with more than 100,000 requests for Criminal Record Certificates.
9. Perfecting institutions in the field of judicial assistance towards increasing socialization
In 2024, the work of drafting documents in the field of judicial support continues to be a key task of the Ministry of Justice. Accordingly, the Ministry has focused on drafting and submitting to competent authorities for approval 02 Laws including: Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Property Auction and the Law on Notarization.
10. The National Registry of Secured Transactions of the Ministry of Justice is an excellent digital transformation agency.
In 2024, the National Registration Office for Secured Transactions, Ministry of Justice was honored in the category of Outstanding Digital Transformation State Agency at the Vietnam Digital Transformation Awards 2024.
