In a petition sent to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy An (41 years old, residing in Long Thanh district) said that in 2008, she was recruited to work at Thien Long Long Thanh Production and Trading Company Limited, as a general administrative staff in the Quality Assurance Department.
During her work, Ms. An said that she completed the assigned tasks and did not violate company regulations, but from January 1, 2024, the company built and applied a new organizational chart to change the structure of the Quality Assurance Department.
In March 2024, the company announced that the position of general administrative staff had changed and the company agreed to arrange for Ms. An to do a job different from the labor contract.
“After the meetings, I did not agree to do other work that the company offered. On November 19, 2024, the company asked the IT department to make a record and confiscate the computer... On December 25, 2024, the company arranged for me to sit in a separate room with security guards supervising..." - Ms. An was upset.
Restricted movement within the factory
Ms. An said that from 2023, she was elected as the Head of the Inspection Committee of the company's grassroots union.
Ms. An requests that Thien Long Long Thanh Production and Trading Company Limited arrange work and working position for her according to the labor contract and in accordance with the law.
On January 8, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Trinh Ngoc Thuan - Director of Thien Long Long Thanh Production and Trading Company Limited said that to meet the new economic situation, many positions in the company have changed, such as issuing documents will not be on paper but run on a digital system, so the above job no longer exists.
In the case of Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy An, the company negotiated to arrange some work, but the employee did not agree. Currently, the company is still paying the employee.
Currently, because workers are not working, movement within the factory is limited, and activities must be reported to superiors for arrangement - Mr. Thuan added.
Responding to the complaint of employee Huynh Thi Thuy An, the company said it is still implementing negotiation solutions to find a suitable common agreement, ensuring legitimate interests for both parties.

However, the act of giving employees a separate room and having security guards supervise is an unfair treatment of employees, showing signs of isolation, causing employees to feel discouraged and have to write their own resignation letters. The purpose of employees coming to the company to work is to get a salary, not to sit around and do nothing.
In the case of Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy An, who is both a worker and a union official at Thien Long Long Thanh Production and Trading Company Limited, the center has been supporting workers to protect their rights.
The Inspectorate of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai province has received the petition.
On January 8, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Cao Duy Thai - Chief Inspector of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai province said that he had received the petition of Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy An - an employee of Thien Long Long Thanh Production and Trading Company Limited. Mr. Thai said that according to the handling procedure, the first authority belongs to the enterprise, so the petition will be transferred to the enterprise for settlement within 30 days. If the employee does not agree, the second complaint is under the authority of the Department Inspector.
