On the afternoon of March 5, Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee on reviewing and removing difficulties and obstacles related to projects under Decision No. 1568/QD-TTg dated December 12, 2024 of the Prime Minister (Steering Committee 1568).
According to the Government Electronic Information Portal, reporting at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Finance Do Thanh Trung said that the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Standing Committee of Steering Committee 1568 (now the Ministry of Finance) has issued a document requesting the report on reviewing and removing difficulties and obstacles related to projects.
To date, the Steering Committee has received 89 reports from central and local agencies. Of which, 29 localities reported no public investment projects having problems or problems under their authority; 12 localities reported no non-budgetary projects having problems; 41 localities reported no PPP projects having problems.
The total number of projects reported by central and local agencies facing difficulties and obstacles is 1,136 projects; including 181 public investment projects, 895 non-budget investment projects and 60 PPP projects.
After listening to the report and comments of the Steering Committee members, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh said that removing difficulties for projects is also one of the contents that regularly receives the most close and drastic attention and direction of General Secretary To Lam.
Since its establishment, Steering Committee 1568 has actively deployed and implemented assigned tasks, including directing localities to synthesize and comprehensively report on backlog projects; implementing the requirements in the National Assembly's resolution on removing difficulties and obstacles for localities and implementing many other important tasks.
The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the Standing Committee of Steering Committee 1568 - the Ministry of Planning and Investment, formerly and now the Ministry of Finance - for its good coordination with ministries, branches and localities in implementing assigned tasks.
After the meeting, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the Government proposed to closely coordinate with the Government Office and relevant agencies to prepare the draft and submit to the Prime Minister to issue a new decision to replace Decision No. 1568 when the names of some ministries and ministerial leaders who are members of the Steering Committee have changed.
Although the Steering Committee was reorganized according to the new decision of the Prime Minister, in terms of functions and tasks, the members of the Steering Committee have not changed at all. Therefore, it is recommended that the members of the Steering Committee continue to resolutely, synchronously and effectively implement the assigned tasks; consider this a particularly important political task.
At the meeting, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister gave specific instructions on the contents and tasks of resolving difficulties and groups of projects; classifying projects facing difficulties and obstacles; Establishing inspection teams to work with ministries, branches and localities in the spirit of inspection and resolution must be drastic, proactive and urgent; inspection and work must have solutions to serve the purpose of resolution.
