At the press conference, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said that the event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) received the attention and active response from international delegates and guests. This is a major event, of great significance, for Vietnam and the world.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said that so far, more than 20 delegations from countries will attend at different levels from the Minister level and above.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang said that for the first time, the parade will feature a typical overseas Vietnamese group of 120 people. Along with that, it is expected that more than 100 overseas Vietnamese delegates from 25 countries and territories will be selected to attend this important event. In addition, there were also a number of former battlefield reporters and overseas Vietnamese reporters attending this event.
Ms. Hang said that the current overseas Vietnamese delegation is present in Da Nang, expected to participate in the activities. Including activities preparing to participate in the Great Unity train, along with representatives of Nhan Si, Religion, Ethnicity ... Visit Truong Sa island district and DK1 rig. After the end of this program, the overseas Vietnamese will continue to participate in activities in the series of events on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South.
Responding to a question from Lao Dong reporter at a press conference about the training process of overseas Vietnamese participating in the parade, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said that this was the first time a overseas Vietnamese parade had been held. Overseas Vietnamese delegates were directly participated in this event, with a very rich and typical cast.
"For the parade of overseas Vietnamese, I understand that there is a very elaborate and thoughtful preparation and is also in the process of practicing to assemble the block, for preliminary approval and general approval" - Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang informed.
In addition, Ms. Hang also informed that it is expected to participate in the parade and parade with the participation of the parade groups of Laos and Cambodia.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs also said that there are currently about 20 international delegations, including 3 high-level delegations, 5 delegations at the ministerial level or higher, 15 party delegations in different continents, including leaders at all levels of these parties.
Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said that the overseas Vietnamese group has begun to practice.
"Although the number of people less than 120 people compared to the original list due to the flight schedule, the parade blocks have been practicing in accordance with the schedule in the past 2 weeks, and training on the other side of the Saigon River. On the evening of April 18, the blocks will continue to practice the training" - Ms. Dieu Thuy added.
