On April 10, the Ministry of Defense coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security, the Central Propaganda Department and the Central Mobilization, Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to hold a press conference to introduce the National Scientific Conference on the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the Unification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The workshop has the theme: "The Great Spring Victory of 1975 with the New Development era of the Vietnamese people".
At the press conference, Colonel Le Thanh Bai - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Institute of Defense Strategy and History - said that the conference will take place on the morning of April 20 (Sunday) at the hall of the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City).
Colonel Le Thanh Bai said that the workshop will have 119 presentations. Including speeches by President Luong Cuong; General Phan Van Giang - Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang - Minister of Public Security; General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense.
Accordingly, President Luong Cuong spent on the topic "Promoting the spirit of great victory in the spring of 1975 to develop a prosperous and mighty country"; General Phan Van Giang presented on the topic "Great victory in the spring of 1975 - Lesson for the cause of building military, strengthening national defense and defending the Fatherland in the new situation"; General Luong Tam Quang discussed the topic "The People's Police of Vietnam in the cause of the struggle for liberation of the South and the reunification of the country"; General Nguyen Tan Cuong presented the topic "Great victory in the spring of 1975 - Lesson on building a military to modern".
Colonel Le Thanh Bai, the articles will clarify and contribute to more deeply analyzing the historical context, results and significance of the 1975 General Rebellion; Continuing to affirm the right and wise strategy policy of the Party Central Committee, headed by President Ho Chi Minh in the leadership of the resistance; Promoting the meaning of the Great victory in the spring of 1975, applying lessons learned to the process of building the national defense and people's security, consolidating the great unity bloc of the entire people to build and firmly defend the Fatherland.
The workshop was attended by about 700 delegates and reporters. Among them, there were the appearance of leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, leaders and former leaders of the Ministries of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, Ho Chi Minh City and a number of other localities along with scientists.
In addition, attending the seminar is expected to have the presence of two historical witnesses, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Doanh, former Political Commissar of the 141st Regiment, former Deputy Commander of the Political Corps of 4 Corps, former Vice Rector of the Army Officer School; Soldier Hoang Thi Khanh, captain of the propaganda armed army of the Saigon - Gia Dinh Propaganda Committee, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Former Political Prison and Prisoners Commission.
The two historical witnesses above were those who directly participated in the General Offensive and Uprising in the spring of 1975.
