98 citizens are filing a long-standing lawsuit in Hanoi

CAO NGUYÊN |

The report of the Petition Committee clearly stated that, after review, there are still 98 citizens from 29 localities with prolonged complaints in Hanoi.

On January 6, continuing the 41st Session, the National Assembly Standing Committee listened to a summary report on the National Assembly's petition work in December 2024.

According to the report of Head of the People's Aspirations Committee Duong Thanh Binh, voters and people expressed their excitement at the achievements in socio-economic development and national defense and security in the past year.

At the same time, voters also highly appreciated the Party's correct and wise leadership; the proactive and timely involvement of the National Assembly with appropriate decisions, the close and drastic direction and management of the Government, the Prime Minister, ministries, branches, Party committees, local authorities at all levels as well as the entire political system.

In particular, voters and people highly agreed to continue directing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee on streamlining the organizational apparatus in the political system.

However, voters and people are still worried about some phenomena that often occur during the Lunar New Year such as increased prices of goods due to increased consumption demand; high bus fares make people upset, causing difficulties for people's lives, especially students and low-income workers who need to return home for Tet holiday...

Traffic congestion and accidents during holidays and Tet; illegal trading, transportation, storage and use of fireworks continue...

"Therefore, it is necessary for the authorities to continue to pay attention and have effective solutions in the coming time" - voters wish.

The report of the People's Petition Committee said that in December 2024, the situation of citizens' complaints, denunciations, recommendations and reflections tended to decrease compared to November 2024.

However, there is still a situation where citizens file individual, prolonged complaints in Hanoi, gathering in large numbers every day, dividing into many groups, moving at different times, causing complications for security and order.

Through review, there are still 98 citizens from 29 localities who are currently filing long-term complaints in Hanoi. The Petition Committee has actively and proactively coordinated with the Government Inspectorate and relevant agencies to organize meetings and direct dialogues with many large groups of people.

Instruct, propagate, and persuade complainants to strictly comply with legal regulations on citizen reception, complaints, and denunciations, and mobilize many citizens to return to their localities for consideration and resolution in accordance with legal regulations.

In addition to some contents reflected by voters, the Government and the Prime Minister have issued directives and management documents in the past time. The People's Petition Committee recommends that the Government direct relevant ministries, branches, and local authorities to pay attention to the preparation of goods for the Lunar New Year in localities.

There are solutions to ensure market and price stability during the Lunar New Year to ensure supply-demand balance, stabilize the market, and contribute to economic stability; there are solutions to thoroughly resolve environmental pollution.

The Ministry of Transport shall strengthen measures to inspect and supervise the implementation of fare declaration, posting of transport fares, train and bus ticket prices according to regulations and strictly handle passenger transport businesses that increase ticket prices in violation of regulations.

The Ministry of Public Security has stepped up propaganda to raise people's awareness and prevent robbery near Tet.
