Reporters of the An Giang Newspaper and Radio and Television Station had an interview with Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Tien Hai before the 14th Party Congress about breakthrough solutions to achieve the double-digit growth target in the coming time.
- Dear Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, with the goal of making An Giang a strong marine economic center of the country by 2030, what key resources and breakthrough results in the past time have created a solid premise for the province to confidently enter a new era?
- To achieve the goal by 2030, making An Giang a fairly developed province of the country; a strong marine economic center of the country, with the spirit of thoroughly grasping the Party's guidelines and policies stated in documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, the An Giang Provincial Party Committee clearly defines: mobilizing and effectively using all resources is a decisive requirement for the province to develop quickly, sustainably and join the whole country in entering a new era.
First of all, An Giang puts people and the political system at the center of the development creation process. After the merger, the whole province has more than 131,700 party members, 107 party committees directly under the Provincial Party Committee and more than 20,000 businesses operating, this is a very large socio-political resource to successfully organize the implementation of the set development goals. Party building, administrative reform, improvement of the business investment environment, innovation and digital transformation have been promoted, contributing to consolidating the trust of the people and businesses, creating a stable foundation for long-term development.
Next, the province focuses on unlocking and effectively mobilizing financial and investment resources. In 2025, the GRDP growth rate of the province reached 8.39%, ranking first in the Mekong Delta region and ranking 14/34 provinces and cities nationwide. Total state budget revenue reached over 25,188 billion VND, total social investment capital reached 89,048 billion VND, an increase of over 35% compared to the same period; the whole province has more than 4,000 newly established businesses and 32 investment projects approved in principle, with a total registered capital of over 13,000 billion VND. These figures show that investors and businesses' confidence in An Giang's investment environment continues to be strengthened.
- Dear Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to achieve the GRDP growth target of over 10.71% by 2026 and affirm the province's position in the new era, what specific breakthrough solutions will the An Giang Provincial Party Committee focus on to unlock investment resources and maximize the overall advantages from the new development space after the merger?
- In 2026, An Giang province sets a GRDP growth target of over 10.71%, GRDP per capita reaching over 90.53 million VND; total state budget revenue reaching over 32,360 billion VND; total social investment capital reaching about 113,500 billion VND; the proportion of added value of the digital economy in GRDP reaching 8%.
To achieve this goal, An Giang province will continue to mobilize all resources for investment, in which public investment leads investment with key projects, with high connectivity and spread, creating favorable conditions for attracting investment in projects to develop key and priority investment areas of the province such as: infrastructure of border gate economic zones, industrial parks, industrial clusters, value-added food processing plant projects associated with concentrated raw material areas.
An Giang puts Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on "developing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation" in the focus and is concretized by practical programs and projects, considering this as a new driving force for growth. At the same time, it will mobilize and effectively use all resources, especially from the private economy and international cooperation, to promote rapid and sustainable development on the basis of strongly shifting the economic structure associated with establishing a new growth model with a development space of both "flats - forests - seas"; and "borders - inland" to develop the marine economy, border gate economy, agricultural economy and multi-sector logistics services. In particular, tourism will develop strongly after a series of infrastructure projects preparing for the APEC 2027 Conference are implemented.
The province is determined to develop rapidly associated with sustainability, Focusing on adjusting and implementing the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050, strongly shifting to a growth model based on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. At the same time, restructure the economy, select priority sectors, a foundation for focusing on development, ensuring the goal of 2-digit annual growth by 2030.
The province has also implemented Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo on private economic development, concretized by action programs, implementation plans with specific tasks and solutions associated with the responsibility of the head. At the same time, building and implementing the Private Economic Development Project associated with other important projects of the province to effectively mobilize private resources for development.
With high political determination, proactive and creative approaches and practical results achieved, An Giang believes that it will effectively mobilize all resources, create rapid and sustainable development, and contribute increasingly to the overall growth of the Mekong Delta region and the whole country in the new era.
