On August 28, the An Giang Provincial People's Council of the XI term, term 2026-2031, held the 5th Session (Specialized Session) to consider and decide on urgent and important contents under its authority.
Through a general review, from August to the end of 2026, the Provincial People's Council must consider and handle 90 resolutions. Among them, there are 15 newly issued resolutions, 59 replacement resolutions and 16 abolition resolutions in many fields.
With the volume and roadmap of construction mentioned above, the Provincial People's Council is expected to hold one meeting each month from now until the end of the year to promptly consider and decide on resolutions, striving to complete the handling of documents under its authority in 2026. Contributing to unifying mechanisms and policies throughout the province, overcoming the situation of the same issue but still applying different regulations of the two previous provinces, ensuring smooth, synchronous and effective management and administration activities.
Along with the task of completing the system of legal normative documents, thematic sessions are also a condition for the Provincial People's Council to consider and promptly decide on urgent issues arising from practice, especially contents aimed at removing difficulties, unlocking resources, accelerating investment progress, implementing programs and projects and serving the socio-economic development requirements of the province.

Speaking at the opening of the session, Standing Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Council Le Hong Tham said that this session considered 18 draft resolutions, focusing on 3 major groups of issues.
First, to improve the system of mechanisms, policies and legal documents of the province in the fields of land, fees, charges, and policies for non-specialized personnel at the grassroots level...
Second, decide on important contents on resource allocation and use, including the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026-2030; principles, criteria, norms and mechanisms for integrating capital sources to implement national target programs.
Third, consider a number of urgent issues serving the development requirements of the province, including the policy of investing in transport infrastructure, land and important projects serving the APEC Summit in Phu Quoc special zone.
Standing Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Council Le Hong Tham requested the delegates of the Provincial People's Council to maximize their sense of responsibility, focus on researching and discussing directly on key issues, contents that still have different opinions. Carefully consider the legal basis, necessity, feasibility, resources for implementation and impact of each policy before deciding.
The general spirit is urgency but must be tight; meeting immediate requirements but must consider long-term stability; removing obstacles, unlocking resources but must ensure compliance with the Party's guidelines, the law and effectiveness in practice," Ms. Tham emphasized.
