Continuing the working trip to Can Tho city, on the afternoon of March 5, the inspection and supervision delegation of the Sub-committee for Ensuring Security, Order and Social Safety of the National Election Council, led by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong - Member of the National Election Council, Head of the Sub-committee, worked with the Can Tho City Election Committee on ensuring security and order to serve the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

According to the report of the Can Tho City Election Commission, the locality has seriously and promptly implemented the guiding documents of the Central Government and the city related to election work. Plans and options to ensure security, order, and social safety are built closely to the actual situation, in order to ensure safety before, during and after the election day.
Up to now, the political security and social order and safety situation in the city is basically stable, and no complicated hotspots have arisen. The City Police coordinate with the City Military Command to synchronously deploy professional measures, proactively prevent and stop risks affecting election work.

Speaking at the working session, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong emphasized that the work of ensuring security and order to serve the election must be carried out proactively from early on, from afar. If the situation in the area is not correctly identified, and proactively handled from the beginning, then when entering the peak period of the election, complicated issues can easily arise.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly clearly stated that propaganda to serve the election needs to be further promoted with many flexible forms.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly requested that from now until the election day, localities need to calculate the progress of work daily. In which, focus on performing well three key tasks: organizing candidates to meet voters and campaign for elections in accordance with regulations; promptly resolving complaints and denunciations related to candidates; reviewing and supplementing voter lists, ensuring that all eligible citizens are entitled to exercise their voting rights.
Regarding the work of compiling voter lists, special attention should be paid to cases of working far away, itinerant voters or people who cannot directly go to the polling station. Localities must proactively arrange mobile ballot boxes to ensure citizens' rights and obligations.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong noted that the police and military forces need to strengthen coordination and develop plans to ensure security and order in key areas, industrial parks, and key areas for national defense and security. Coordination must be specific in terms of forces, tasks, mobile routes, and situations handling plans, to avoid passivity and surprise.
