Applying new technology to build Ring Road 4

PHẠM ĐÔNG |

Hanoi was assigned to coordinate with the investor of the Ring Road 4 project to choose the application of bridge technology on high-intensity concrete piles on a section of the route.

On March 4, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha chaired a meeting with Hoa Binh Company, scientific experts, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Science and Technology on the construction of overpass expressway, elevated urban railway using the technology of bridgehead on V+ high-intensity concrete piles (PRC).

The V+ above- piles bridge technology uses precast concrete piles and open-top panels with precast edges to build elevated overpasses and elevated urban railways, replacing the technology of building overpasses using the technology of casting piles and concrete beams on the spot, which is more costly and time-consuming.

With new technology, concrete components for the construction of overpasses and elevated urban railways are standardized, precast, and mass-produced at factories, without having to pour concrete for piles and beams directly on the construction site, so construction is faster, the quality of beams and piles is guaranteed. In particular, because concrete components are manufactured simultaneously in the factory, they are very economical.

In Vietnam, from February to June 2024, Hoa Binh Company has invited design consulting companies to review and conduct design and signing a contract to test the construction of a 2-storey overpass expressway using precious metering technology on high-intensity PRC concrete piles in the Xuan Cau - Lach Huyen duty area, Hai Phong City.

The construction period of the project is only 2 months, after completion, this project has been tested and inspected with the results meeting the requirements of the current bridge design.

At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the whole country is implementing many national key transport infrastructure projects to implement strategic breakthroughs in infrastructure.

Therefore, the consideration of implementing new scientific and technical solutions has received great attention from the Party and the State.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that, in addition to the advantages of overpass construction solutions in flooded areas, weak soil, coastal areas, etc., it is necessary to continue to clarify the basis, economic and technical basis showing that the solution of Hoa Binh Company has cheaper investment costs and shorter construction time compared to overpass technologies currently applied in Vietnam.

From the implementation process, the Government leaders requested that guidelines for the construction of overpasses at enterprises must be developed; construction norms and unit prices under specific construction conditions; scope of application under specific geological and hydrological conditions... and publicly announced after being assessed and evaluated by the management agency.

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned Hanoi City to coordinate with investors of the Ring Road 4 project to select the application of technology and solutions of Hoa Binh Company on a specific route, in accordance with the correct construction investment order and procedures, in order to fully assess the durability, safety, maintenance and repair plans, implementation time, and economic efficiency.
