Some incorrect arguments
While the entire Party, people, and army are enthusiastically organizing activities towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on the other side of the front line, some hostile individuals and organizations take advantage of social networks ( Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube...) to spread false information, distorted arguments, and history, denying the achievements that the August Revolution of 1945 brought.
They believe that the August Revolution of 1945 is "catastrophic", "luck of it"; there is no authenticity, if there were no such revolution, Vietnam would still be "repaid for independence"... All of these proposals are not for any other purpose than to deny the stature, meaning and value that the August Revolution of 1945 brought. But all those luanences cannot deceive the public. Historical truth has completely rejected those distorted and incorrect arguments.
The great turning point that the revolution has created
The resounding success of the August Revolution must first of all be mentioned as the overthrow of domination, the end of more than 80 years of French colonial rule and the end of the thousand-year feudal regime, the return of power to the people. The August Revolution of 1945 created a great turning point to turn Vietnam from a colonial country to an independent, sovereign nation; the Vietnamese people from slavery became masters of the country.
From the victory of this revolution, it led to the event on September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh respectfully read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) - the first People's Democratic State in Southeast Asia. A new-style State, a State of the people, by the people and for the people that the Vietnamese people have for the first time.
The birth of the State opens a new era - the era of independence and freedom for the Vietnamese people. This event also laid the foundation for the development of the Vietnamese revolution, a premise for the Vietnamese revolution to advance and win victory in the resistance war against French colonialism, American domination and the construction and protection of the country in the future.
The success of the August Revolution in 1945 contributed significantly to promoting the movement for independence of the colony's ethnic groups. That revolution truly became a source of inspiration for national liberation movements in Asia, Africa, Latin America... The August Revolution of 1945 also affirmed the self-reliance and self-reliance of oppressed peoples.
Party leadership - the decisive factor for victory
The August Revolution is the crystallization of the correct revolutionary line of the Indochinese Communist Party (now the Communist Party of Vietnam). The revolutionary peaks preparing for the General Uprising were patriotic struggles, led by the Indochinese Communist Party, aimed at building forces, enlightening the masses, gradually weakening the domination apparatus of French colonialism, Japanese socialism and the wrong hands.
Right after the Communist Party of Indochina was born (February 3, 1930), the movement of the workers and farmers' struggle increased. Especially the Nghe Tinh Soviet crop (1930-1930). protests and demonstrations spread across the country, especially in Nghe An and Ha Tinh. From that movement, Soviet rule in some localities was formed.
In the context of the People's Front taking power in France, creating conditions for democratic activities, our Party launched the Democratic Clash (1936 - 1939). At this time, the Party determined that the form of struggle was legal and half-legal, taking advantage of the press, organizing rallies, meetings, fighting for parliamentary elections, demanding people's rights and democracy; thereby expanding the influence of the Party, enlightening the masses, building revolutionary bases and gathering forces.
After this climax, the Indochinese Communist Party continued to launch a climax against the Imperial War (1939 - 1945). In the context of the Second World War exploding and the French colonialists strongly suppressing the revolutionary movement, our Party determined to change direction to fight.
At the 6th Central Conference (11.1939), the Party proposed a policy of national liberation. At the 8th Central Conference (May 5,41), the Party decided to establish the Viet Minh Front and promote the general uprising force. Armed movements, guards and ground bases such as the Cao-Bac-Lang and Viet Bac bases have developed strongly, especially the movement "breaking rice warehouses, solving hunger" in the North in early 1945, linking the revolution with people's lives.
The results of theocres contributed to building a strong, enlightened political and armed forces, mobilizing millions of people to participate in the revolution, weakening the enemy, and preparing all necessary conditions for the August 1945 General Uprising to gain power across the country. The success of the revolution has proven the talented and wise leadership role of the Indochinese Communist Party and President Ho Chi Minh. The path of the people's democratic national revolution, combining national strength with the strength of the times has been proven to be completely correct.
Historical fact has proven that the August Revolution is not a "ratory" or "luck" but is carefully prepared and strictly organized and led. The August Revolution of 1945 is not only a brilliant milestone in the history of the Vietnamese people, but also a vivid testament to the great national unity under the leadership of the Party and the aspiration to freedom and independence. The revolution has affirmed that in any circumstances, no matter what tricks the hostile and reactionary forces use, the stature, significance, historical value and spirit of the revolution will always last and shine.
