Honoring the achievements of 100 years of revolutionary journalism
The opening ceremony of the 2025 National Newspaper Association officially took place on the morning of June 19 with the participation and interest of many journalists and the public nationwide.
The opening ceremony was attended by Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Nguyen Trong Nghia. Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee: Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Pham Tat Thang; Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh.
Speaking at the opening of the National Newspaper Association in 2025, Mr. Le Quoc Minh said that over the past 100 years, the Vietnamese press has always raised the flag to fight, contributing to the Vietnamese revolution and the cause of national liberation.
According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, the theme of the National Newspaper Association 2025 "Vietnamese Journalism - Trung Thu, Creativity, Courage, Innovation for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland" is also a guideline for journalists to continue their noble mission in the period when the country is entering a new era.
Explaining the elements of " Loyalty, creativity, courage, innovation" in the theme of the 2025 National Press Association, Mr. Le Quoc Minh affirmed: "All of these elements are aimed at the highest goal "for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland".
Aspiration for innovation and noble mission
Speaking at the 2025 National Newspaper Festival, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized: This year's Newspaper Festival is a vivid symbol of the spirit of inheritance and development: From the space to display the history of the press rich in identity, to the exhibition of press materials, press products, the application of new technology, all have vividly demonstrated the development journey from traditional to modern, from print newspapers, electronic newspapers, spoken newspapers, visual newspapers to multi-platform journalism, from "penny, paper" to "artificial intelligence and big data"...
I hope that every journalist, every press agency will work together to create the following: Innovation in thinking, renewal in expression and deepening in social roles. The public coming to the National Press Association today also affirmed their belief and expressed their expectations to the team of loyal writers as well as revolutionary press products that will truly shine, "leading" in the era of the country's rise" - Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia said.
Citing the speech of General Secretary To Lam: "The new era also requires new, higher tasks for revolutionary press, requiring press to develop commensurately, rise up with the nation, worthy of professional, humane, modern journalism", Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that this advice is the strategic orientation, the order of action for us today - so that from this Newspaper Association, Vietnamese revolutionary press can steadily enter the new period with a strong stance, the desire for innovation and the noble mission: serving the Fatherland, serving the people. Each journalist will love their profession more, be steadfast and aspirational to continue on a new journey with a higher sense of commitment and responsibility, worthy of being a pioneer force on the ideological and cultural front in the new era.
The 2025 National Newspaper Association brings together nearly 130 booths displaying outstanding and typical press publications from more than 80 central press agencies and all levels of the Vietnam Journalists Association. This year, the 2025 National Newspaper Association has dedicated a space to the exhibition center with the theme "100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism: Achievements and trends in press development in the new era". The Organizing Committee has collected, selected and digitized more than 500 valuable images, artifacts and documents reflecting the 100-year journey of formation and development of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press.
