On the morning of June 28, the 10th term People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City held its final session before Ho Chi Minh City officially merged with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces.
Speaking at the meeting, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Nen shared that this meeting is "last but not the last". Because there are only 2 days left, Ho Chi Minh City will step on a new page, a new milestone to enter a new journey.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nen said that in recent days, many districts in Ho Chi Minh City have organized summary sessions, before ending operations to switch to the 2-level local government model.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, at this or this Ho Chi Minh City People's Council meeting, everyone needs to think about meaningful things. Life does not need anything big. Live to contribute. Try to make the most of your time and do meaningful things for this life" - Mr. Nen shared.
Looking back at the 10th term of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, Mr. Nguyen Van Nen assessed this as a special term with many challenges, but also acknowledged outstanding contributions.
In 4 years, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council has gone through many important milestones such as: controlling and overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic; resolving long-standing backlogs; contributing to the process of building Resolution 98 of the National Assembly; summarizing Resolution 18 of the Central Committee...
The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee hopes that in the new period, when Ho Chi Minh City becomes a "super city" after the merger, each cadre and delegate needs to prepare their mindset, knowledge and courage to meet new operational requirements.
"I have faith in the next generation, as well as in the new Ho Chi Minh City People's Council. When merging, 1 plus 2 must be greater than 3. We must promote what has been done well, overcome what is still available, improve working style, and improve the quality of activities" - Mr. Nen emphasized.

Also at the meeting, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le shared that although after this meeting she will no longer hold the role of Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, she will still be a delegate of the People's Council until March 2026 and will continue to monitor and contribute to the development of the City People's Council.
