According to the decisions of the President, Mr. Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong City and Mr. Nguyen Van Tung - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City were awarded the Second Class Labor Medal for their outstanding achievements in leadership and direction in ensuring social security, applying scientific and technological advances in Hai Phong City, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.
Comrades Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee; Le Anh Quan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee received the Third Class Labor Medal for their outstanding achievements in leadership and direction in competing to successfully implement the Resolution of the 16th Hai Phong City Party Congress (2020-2025).
Mr. Tran Van Quan, member of the Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province, now Hai Phong city, received the Second Class Labor Medal; Mr. Vu Hong Hien, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, now Hai Phong city received the Third Class Labor Medal for outstanding achievements in leadership and direction in competing to successfully implement the Resolution of the 17th Hai Duong Provincial Party Congress (2020-2025).
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Tien Chau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the new Hai Phong City affirmed that the merger of Hai Phong City and Hai Duong Province is a strategic decision of the Party and State, a historic milestone, opening up new development space, creating a stronger growth pole, promoting the development of the Red River Delta and the whole country.
This consolidation is not simply a mechanical combination of administrative boundaries, population or potential, but also a convergence of cultural traditions and glorious revolutionary history of the heroic port country and the land of the developed East; a convergence and blend of the spirit of innovation, the tradition of taking the lead, the courage to think, dare to speak, know how to do with intelligence, cultural depth, and the tradition of studiousness; is the crystallization of solidarity, creativity and aspiration to rise up of the Party Committee, government, army and people of the two localities through generations. This is a solid premise for building a new Hai Phong City of greater stature, worthy of being the strategic growth pole in the North of the country.
Hai Phong City deeply recognizes that the road ahead will have many difficulties and challenges, but it is also an opportunity to realize the aspiration for a new Hai Phong, developing on par with typical cities in Asia; becoming a modern international seaport city, leading the country in industrialization and modernization; being an economic, cultural, educational, training, science and technology center of international stature.
The Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized that the Party Committee, government, army and people of the city will unite, unite, join hands, be determined to build Hai Phong into a model coastal city, develop green, smart, modern and sustainable; be a model in building socialism associated with socialist people, making worthy contributions to the common development of the country.
Previously, at the ceremony, the Prime Minister presented the Politburo's decision to appoint Mr. Le Tien Chau as Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee; presented Hai Phong City with 12 new words "Solidarity - Strong - Modern - Prosperity - Civilization - Happiness".
