Mr. Nguyen Van Nen acknowledged and praised the results achieved by the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in the recent term.
The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee highly appreciated the results after the operation of the 2-level local government model; The more reasonable decentralization and delegation of power has created conditions for agencies, units and localities to be proactive and flexible in performing their functions and tasks.
The city also promotes administrative reform associated with the application of science - technology, digital transformation, improving accountability and the quality of public services, promoting people's participation.
These results contribute to Ho Chi Minh City achieving the GRDP growth target of 8.5% in 2025 and aiming for double-digit growth in the following years.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nen emphasized that the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee plays a particularly important role in concretizing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, and directly advising the City Party Committee on important decisions of the city.
Therefore, the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee needs to innovate thinking, raise awareness and vision to meet the requirements in the new period.
The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee requested to consider Party building and rectification as a key task; consider the economy as a driving force, culture - society as a foundation, national defense - security as a priority. The Party Committee must persistently maintain discipline and order, promote democracy, set an example for leaders, and creatively apply the Party's resolutions to life through specific action programs.
The more important thing is to promote the strength of the great national unity bloc, mobilize intelligence and resources from the people, the business community, the intellectual team and overseas Vietnamese - Mr. Nguyen Van Nen emphasized.
The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee also noted the need to innovate leadership methods, avoiding the situation of making excuses, replacing or loosening.
At the same time, it is to focus on building the Party in terms of politics, ideology and ethics; promote the study and practice of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in conjunction with building a wide-scale Ho Chi Minh cultural space; resolutely prevent and combat corruption and waste according to the motto "both building and combating, actively pushing back negativity".
Mr. Nguyen Van Nen requested to strengthen inspection and supervision work, not to let small shortcomings lead to major violations, not to let individual violations become collective violations.
At the same time, it is necessary to improve the quality of planning, training, rotating cadres, properly assessing capacity, and using them reasonably to promote efficiency. At the same time, continue to implement mechanisms and policies to prioritize the selection and use of talent in the public sector.
