On the morning of June 30, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a ceremony to announce and award the decision to establish the Ho Chi Minh City Development Research Board.
The Ho Chi Minh City Development Research Board was established with 24 members. Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang holds the position of Head of the Board.
The Deputy Heads include: Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Quoc Phong; Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Vo Van Minh; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Phuoc Loc; Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dang Minh Thong and Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Van Thi Bach Tuyet.

Speaking to assign tasks, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang emphasized the particularly important role of the Ho Chi Minh City Development Research Board in the context of the city entering a new stage of development with many requirements and challenges.
Highly appreciating the capacity and work experience of the members, Mr. Tran Luu Quang expressed his belief that the collective of the Ho Chi Minh City Development Research Board will promote the spirit of responsibility, intelligence and practical experience to successfully complete the assigned tasks, contributing to advising on important policies for the city's development.
Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary requested the Ho Chi Minh City Development Research Board to be one of the pioneering units in digital transformation, strongly applying technology to all research and advisory activities. Effective models, experiences and ways of doing things need to be summarized and replicated for other agencies and units of the city to refer to and implement.
At the same time, the Board needs to urgently complete the organizational and operating regulations, develop an annual work program, establish affiliated sub-committees and soon deploy assigned tasks, ensuring that activities become substantive and effective from the early days.
According to the establishment decision, the Ho Chi Minh City Development Research Board has the task of advising the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to develop guidelines and resolutions on socio-economic development; research and propose mechanisms, policies and breakthrough solutions to implement key tasks, key programs and projects of the city.
In addition, the Committee also participates in evaluating and criticizing policies when assigned; coordinates training and fostering to improve capacity for the contingent of officials; organizes scientific conferences to serve the development of feasible projects and schemes, and at the same time performs other tasks as assigned by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
