The Central Committee of the Party announced that on August 9, 2024, at the Central Committee's Office, the Politburo reviewed and implemented disciplinary measures against organizations with violations and shortcomings.
After considering the proposal of the Central Inspection Committee, the Politburo noted:
The Standing Board of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term did not issue a working regulation for the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee, violating the working regulation; allowed the Provincial People's Committee to submit a resolution to the Provincial People's Council on the use of land with content violating land law.
The Standing Board of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 and 2020-2025 terms was irresponsible, lax in leadership and direction, and failed to inspect and supervise, allowing the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to not hold meetings, discuss, and make decisions, and not report to the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Board, the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Board, on the leadership and direction of the management and exploitation of 15 sand mineral projects and the management and use of land for 197 investment projects from non-state funds, violating the principle of democratic centralism and the working regulation; allowing the Party Council of the Provincial People's Council, the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and several organizations and individuals to have many violations and shortcomings in the management and exploitation of sand minerals, in the management and use of land, with a high risk of budget loss and embezzlement; allowing many party organizations and party members under the management of the Provincial Party Committee to be disciplined and punished related to the projects/contracts implemented by AIC Joint Stock Company; resulting in a serious crime case related to the violation of the management and exploitation of sand minerals, with many officials and party members, including the leaders of the province, being disciplined and punished.
Based on the content, nature, severity, and consequences of the violations of the party organizations mentioned above, in accordance with the Party's regulations on disciplinary measures for party organizations and members with violations, the Politburo decided to implement disciplinary measures against the Standing Board of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 and 2020-2025 terms.
