This meeting was on the occasion of Politburo member and Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang accompanying General Secretary To Lam and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on a state visit to the Doi Quoc Korean State.
Sincerely thanking Minister Luong Tam Quang for taking the time to meet, Mr. Kim Won Kyong introduced to the Minister and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security delegation the organizational structure, scale as well as production and business activities of Samsung Group.
General Director Kim Won Kyong emphasized that Samsung Vietnam is a strategic unit of the Group, and has been implementing many programs to support Vietnamese enterprises to participate in Samsung's global supply chain.
Expressing his pleasure at receiving General Director of Samsung Group Kim Won Kyong, Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that this is Comrade To Lam's first visit as General Secretary, demonstrating the special consideration of the Party, State and people of Vietnam for Korea - a leading partner in the region and the world, and expressing his confidence that the visit will open a new stage of development in the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Korea in all fields.
Minister Luong Tam Quang stated that in the overall relationship between the two countries, economic cooperation plays a key pillar role. South Korea is currently the largest foreign direct investor in Vietnam; the second largest partner in development cooperation (ODA) and the third largest partner in trade and labor cooperation. In particular, Samsung Group is a typical bright spot, making an important contribution to the process of innovation and technology development in Vietnam.
Minister Luong Tam Quang said that the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security is stepping up the modernization of the People's Public Security force to meet the requirements of firmly ensuring national security, maintaining social order and safety in the new era of development. The Ministry of Public Security is ready to cooperate and joint ventures with large corporations and enterprises to invest in developing the security industry.
At the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested that Samsung Group share experiences, organize training courses on safety, network security, and high-tech crime prevention; and cooperate in training specialized human resources in the fields of information technology and artificial intelligence for the Ministry of Public Security.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to study and implement specific cooperation proposals, contributing to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Samsung Group in particular, and between the two countries in general in the coming time.
