This afternoon (January 8), in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics held a ceremony to announce the decision on organization and personnel work according to Decision No. 214-QD/TW of the Politburo.
According to the decision, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thanh Giang - Deputy Director, Vice Chairman of the Board of the Academy of Journalism and Communication - was transferred and appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the Academy of Public Administration and Management from January 8, 2025, with a term of 5 years.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Politburo member, Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council - presented the appointment decision to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Giang and other personnel transferred and appointed this time.
After the announcement ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thanh Giang expressed his emotion and thanked the leaders at all levels for trusting and entrusting him with the important responsibility of Deputy Director of the Academy of Public Administration and Management. This is a great honor and also a high responsibility that he believes requires effort to complete the assigned tasks well.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thanh Giang expressed his commitment to continue to inherit and promote the achievements of the Academy together with the Board of Directors, staff and lecturers, aiming to build the Academy into a leading training and research institution in public administration and governance, best meeting the needs of national development in the new period.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thanh Giang was born in 1977; Hometown: Thanh Tri, Hanoi. Mr. Tran Thanh Giang is a Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Journalism and Communication, Associate Professor of Political Science, Doctor of Philosophy.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thanh Giang has worked in a number of agencies in various positions, including nearly 25 years working at universities, holding the following positions: Deputy Head of Training and Scientific Research Department, Acting Head of Training and Scientific Research Department, Head of Administration and Organization Department, Center for Training and Fostering Lecturers of Political Theory, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Member of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Chief of Office of the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda; Head of the Training Management Board of the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda.
From March 2018 to early January 2025, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thanh Giang held the following positions: Party Committee member, Standing Committee member of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Academy, Vice Chairman of the School Council of the Academy of Journalism and Communication.
After merging with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the National Academy of Public Administration became the Academy of Public Administration and Management (headquarters in Hanoi, 1 branch in Ho Chi Minh City and 1 branch in Quang Nam province). The functions, tasks, organizational structure and staffing of the units under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics are decided by the Director of the Academy.
According to the decisions on personnel work, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien - Director of the National Academy of Public Administration, holds the position of Director of the Academy of Public Administration and Management. The Deputy Directors of the Academy of Public Administration and Management are Dr. Nguyen Dang Que; Associate Professor Dr. Luong Thanh Cuong; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Suu; Dr. Bui Phuong Dinh and Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thanh Giang.
