    At the first session of the People's Council of Can Tho City, term X, 2021 - 2026, the delegates approved the Resolution to establish 14 specialized agencies under the City People's Committee.

    Specifically: Establish Can Tho City Department of Home Affairs on the basis of merging Soc Trang Provincial Department of Home Affairs, Hau Giang Provincial Department of Home Affairs and Can Tho City Department of Home Affairs.

    Establish Can Tho City Department of Justice on the basis of merging the Soc Trang Provincial Department of Justice, Hau Giang Provincial Department of Justice and Can Tho City Department of Justice.

    Establish Can Tho City Department of Finance on the basis of merging Soc Trang Provincial Department of Finance, Hau Giang Provincial Department of Finance and Can Tho City Department of Finance.

    Establish Can Tho City Department of Industry and Trade on the basis of merging the Department of Industry and Trade of Soc Trang province, the Department of Industry and Trade of Hau Giang province and the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City.

    Establish the Department of Foreign Affairs of Can Tho City on the basis of merging the Department of Foreign Affairs under the Office of the People's Committee of Soc Trang Province, receiving the functions and tasks of local foreign affairs of the Office of the People's Committee of Hau Giang Province into the Department of Foreign Affairs of Can Tho City.

    The above specialized agencies have legal status, have their own seals and accounts; comply with the direction and management of the organization, staffing and work of the People's Committee of Can Tho City; at the same time, comply with the direction, inspection and guidance on expertise and profession of competent central ministries and branches.
