Speaking at the closing session of the Congress, Mr. Do Thanh Binh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025 - emphasized: With a high sense of responsibility before the Party Committee and the people, the Congress discussed, analyzed, and evaluated objectively and comprehensively the results of 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the City Party Committee for the term 2020 - 2025; with a spirit of self-criticism and criticism, seriously and frankly acknowledged the shortcomings, limitations, and causes, especially the subjective causes, and at the same time drew valuable lessons for the new development journey.
On that basis, the Congress unanimously approved important documents such as the Political Report; Report on reviewing the leadership and direction of the Party Executive Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term; Resolution of the 1st Can Tho City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
The Congress also discussed and contributed many enthusiastic and responsible opinions to the draft documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress; expressed iron belief that: With the courage, intelligence, vision and consensus of the entire Party and people, the 14th National Party Congress will be a resounding success, bringing our country into a new era of development - the era of national growth, for peace, independence, democracy, prosperity, civilization, happiness, firmly moving towards socialism.
At the closing session, the Congress approved the Politburo's Decision on appointing the Inspection Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 14 comrades. Appointed Ms. Pham Thi Phuong as Chairwoman of the Inspection Committee.
The decision appointed the Can Tho City Party Committee Delegation to attend the 14th National Congress of the Party, consisting of 46 official delegates and 1 short-s chosen delegate.
The Congress voted and reached a high consensus on 28 main targets in the fields of economy, society; environment; infrastructure development; Party building, political system; national defense, security, and foreign affairs to focus on achieving in the 2025 - 2030 term. Agree on 3 focused breakthroughs.
Some outstanding indicators are the Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) by 2030 reaching a minimum of VND 717,000 billion. GRDP per capita strives to reach about 215 million VND/person/year; the average growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) reaches 10 - 10.5%/year or more; foreign currency export, service and revenue reaches 8.2 billion USD; average income per capita reaches a minimum of 8,500,000 VND/person/month. Total annual budget revenue will increase by about 15%; strive to reach 57,000 billion VND by 2030.
The general goal is to strive by 2030, Can Tho City will become a growth pole of the country, playing a role as a driving force for development, spreading, and leading the whole region. As the regional center for trade, tourism, logistics, marine economy, processing industry, digital technology, high-tech agriculture, education and training, intensive healthcare, startup center, science and technology and innovation, cultural and sports development; as a regional core city; building Can Tho people rich in identity, revolutionary ideals, ethics, intelligence, and a prosperous and happy life. Build a clean and strong Party organization and political system; ensure strong national defense and security, maintain political stability, social order and safety.
By 2045, it will be an ecological, civilized, modern city, striving to be in the group of well-developed cities in Asia, becoming a livable city of Vietnam.
