On the afternoon of November 28, the Government Electronic Information Portal organized a discussion "Green growth - Global trend, inevitable choice" to analyze and clarify many issues related to green growth.
Mr. Le Viet Anh, Director of the Department of Science, Education, Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Planning and Investment, said that the Government has issued a national strategy on green growth for the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2045, and the Government has also issued a national action plan on green growth for the period 2021-2030.
"Ministries, sectors and localities have also issued or integrated tasks and solutions on green growth into their socio-economic development plans. That shows that Vietnam identifies green growth as a very important orientation for the socio-economy in the next period," said Mr. Viet Anh.
The National Action Plan on Green Growth also sets out a series of tasks and solutions for participating parties, with the spirit of leaving no one behind.
However, according to Mr. Le Viet Anh, we must also admit that, in the past, the policy on green growth still has many points that need to be further improved, and there is still a lot of room for improvement.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment will issue a national green industry system. When this system is issued, we will clearly identify which enterprises and investment projects will enjoy incentives in terms of mechanisms and policies for green growth.
Mr. Quach Quang Dong, Deputy Director of the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, said: Vietnamese enterprises must also drastically change their thinking and strategies to meet the requirements of sustainable development and green growth.
To support the transformation programs of enterprises towards green and sustainable development, the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have developed and implemented many direct support programs such as the national program on energy saving and efficiency for the period 2019-2030, the national program on sustainable production and consumption for the period 2021-2030 as well as the Plan to respond to climate change and green growth to 2030 with a view to 2050.
These programs aim to support businesses in transforming towards efficient use of resources, raw materials, energy, and towards low emissions in the production and business process.
"Through this, we also want to send a message to the Vietnamese business community to make efforts, be proactive and persistent in innovating and transforming towards green and sustainable development; build a long-term development strategy while continuing to accompany, respond to and support the programs of the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade" - Mr. Dong shared.
