On August 4, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the Government Standing Committee on the socio-economic situation, preparing for the upcoming regular Government meeting in July 2025.
According to reports and opinions at the meeting, in July, the world situation continued to face many difficulties and challenges; many new developments appeared.
The Prime Minister chaired an online conference with the Government and localities, determining the growth target for 2025 from 8.3-8.5% and assigning growth targets to each ministry, branch, locality, and state-owned enterprise.
Thanks to that, the socio-economic situation continues to maintain a positive trend, each month is better than the previous month, achieving many important results with many bright spots, being trusted and highly appreciated by the international community, people and businesses, creating a premise to strive to achieve the growth target for the whole year of 8.3-8.5%.
The economy continues to grow, the macro economy is basically stable, inflation is controlled, major balances are guaranteed, many important indicators and indicators are better than last month and the same period last year.
Notably, new orders increased again, the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) in July reached 52.4 points, the first month above 50 points since the beginning of the second quarter.
National defense, security, social order and safety are maintained, the fight against, preventing, repelling smuggling, trade fraud, intellectual property violations... continue to be promoted.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh analyzed and emphasized a number of contents on assessment of the situation, direction, management, and policy response in July and the past; outstanding results in socio-economics, limitations, and shortcomings; lessons learned; and forecasts for the situation in the coming time.
Requiring to continue to flexibly and effectively adapt to the situation, not be subjective or negligent, not to panic or worry, the Prime Minister also emphasized key tasks and solutions, breakthroughs in various fields to renew traditional growth drivers, promote new growth drivers.
At the same time, diversify markets, products and supply chains; effectively implement the 4 "four pillar ministries" resolutions of the Politburo; remove difficult projects...
Along with that, smooth and smooth operation of the local government at both levels, reducing administrative procedures, promoting decentralization and delegation of power along with resource allocation, strengthening inspection and supervision.
At the same time, organize well the activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the groundbreaking ceremony, inauguration of major projects, the Exhibition "80 years of independence - freedom - Happiness"; prepare for the new school year; develop and implement projects to prevent and respond to landslides, subsidence, drought and flooding in the northern mountainous areas and the Mekong Delta.
The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Finance and the Government Office to absorb opinions at the meeting, ministries and agencies continue to contribute opinions to complete reports and draft Resolutions for the regular Government meeting in July 2025, ensuring 6 things: Clear people, clear work, clear time, clear responsibilities, clear products, clear authority.
