Solidarity within the Party, internal strength is the most key factor
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security (CAND) (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), on the morning of July 28, in Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam visited and met with officers and soldiers of the Department of Internal Political Security, Ministry of Public Security.
Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam acknowledged, highly appreciated and commended the achievements and results that the Department of Internal Political Security and the Internal Political Security force have achieved in the past time.
General Secretary To Lam affirmed that in order to implement many major policies in the past time, solidarity within the Party and internal strength are the most key factors, with especially important contributions from the People's Public Security force in maintaining a peaceful and stable political environment and contributions from the internal political security force in protecting the Party and protecting internal political security.
Regarding the key tasks in the coming time, General Secretary To Lam emphasized the unified awareness of the high requirement to protect the Party, protect internal political security and the responsibility of the national internal political security force in the current period.
Protecting the Party in the current period is not only about protecting the Party's leadership and governance role, protecting the socialist regime, the Party's ideological foundation, viewpoints, policies and guidelines; territorial sovereignty, borders, islands, handling situations of crisis and national emergencies; protecting revolutionary achievements, repelling risks, protecting and maintaining a peaceful, stable and favorable environment for development.
Protecting the Party in the current period is also to ensure the construction, completion and effective implementation of the Constitution and laws; successfully implementing the Party's policies and guidelines; effectively, efficiently and efficiently operating the two-level local government, creating new space and momentum for development, achieving the two 100-year goals of the country: By 2030, the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding will be celebrated, becoming a developing country with modern industry and high average income. By 2045, the country will celebrate 100 years of founding, becoming a developed socialist country with high income; building, fostering, training and protecting high-quality leadership sources, protecting key leaders, strategic cadres at all levels, and cadres at the grassroots level.
Highly focus on protecting the Party's ideological foundation
From the awareness of protecting the Party in the new revolutionary period, the General Secretary requested that the Internal Political Security force needs to strongly innovate its thinking, methods, and directions for implementing internal political security protection. In addition to traditional internal political security protection issues, it is necessary to expand the work of grasping the situation, protecting the implementation of new strategic policies of the Party, promptly detecting problems, difficulties, manifestations of division and disunity in the operation of local governments at both levels, early detection, right from grassroots party organizations, signs of fragility must be grasped, evaluated, and promptly synthesized and reported to the Party and the State; promptly detecting manifestations of "group benefits", institutional and policy axes in the process of perfecting and promoting the law.
The General Secretary suggested focusing on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, protecting internal solidarity and unity and closely linking the Party and the people; promptly orienting correct political ideology, detecting and correcting distorted perceptions, fighting hostile arguments, creating a foundation for the unity of ideology, action and will in the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army.
The General Secretary emphasized that reality shows that at each turning point of the revolution, when the practical situation is complicated, if it is not promptly detected and oriented, the ideology of a significant number of people will have negative manifestations, this situation will be even more dangerous in the context of science and technology development like the current storm.
Identifying health care and education as areas directly related to social security, demonstrating the humanity of the socialist regime, the General Secretary suggested actively implementing the work of protecting internal political security, ensuring that the Party's policies in these areas are effectively implemented, firmly consolidating the people's heart position in the new situation.
