Portrait of Mr. Tran Quoc Nam - new Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee

Mr. Tran Quoc Nam was born on December 27, 1971, hometown in Duc Hoa commune, Mo Duc district, Quang Ngai province. He has a PhD in Forestry, Agricultural and Forestry Engineering, and a high level of political theory. He joined the Party on July 2, 1998.

Before being elected as Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Tran Quoc Nam held many positions in Ninh Thuan province such as: Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ninh Thuan Province, term XV, with a winning rate of 88.15%.

Mr. Tran Quoc Nam has nearly 30 years of experience in the local government apparatus.

Mr. Tran Quoc Nam started his career at the Office of the People's Committee of Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan province in May 1996. After that, he held the positions of specialist, department head, Deputy Chief of Office and Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee.

In the period of 2010 - 2012, he was assigned to be Chairman of the People's Committee of Ninh Son district. From 2016 to 2020, he held the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, then became a member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Organization Committee of the Ninh Thuan Provincial Party Committee.

In November 2020, Mr. Tran Quoc Nam was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee. In February 2025, he was assigned by the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to continue to hold the position of Secretary of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee.

With nearly 30 years of working in the local government system, Mr. Tran Quoc Nam is considered a cadre with experience in management, a good understanding of local practices and a process of maturity from the grassroots.

In particular, Mr. Tran Quoc Nam, when he was still holding the position of Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ninh Thuan province, regularly visited many localities in the province with Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, to meet voters.

Through meetings with voters, Mr. Tran Quoc Nam has repeatedly pledged to strive to do the best and most effective policies for the people. In response to the people's opinions and aspirations on hot issues of the locality and the country, Mr. Tran Quoc Nam has accepted and forwarded them to the competent authorities for settlement.

Mr. Tran Quoc Nam was elected Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee in the context that the locality is facing many urgent requirements on urban development, social housing, transport infrastructure, land management and transforming the growth model associated with marine and forest resource conservation.

This is also an important transition step in strategic-level cadre work in a coastal province of the South Central region, which is being identified by the Central Government as a new growth center in the Central Coast region.
