On January 17, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense organized a ceremony to announce and award decisions to confer the rank of general to military officers of some provinces and cities across the country.
The ceremony was solemnly held, in accordance with the Vietnam People's Army's ritual.

At the ceremony, authorized by the President, General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Minister of National Defense presented the decision to confer the rank of Major General on Colonel Dinh Hong Tieng, Commander of the Military Command of Lam Dong province.
Speaking at the ceremony, leaders of the Ministry of National Defense acknowledged and highly appreciated the process of work, training, and striving of the comrades who were awarded the rank of general.
General Phan Van Giang requested to continue to maintain political bravery, uphold the spirit of responsibility, focus on leading and directing the effective implementation of local national defense and military tasks, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety.
According to the Military Command of Lam Dong province, in this phase, Military Region 7 only had comrade Dinh Hong Tieng awarded the rank of Major General.
The conferment of military rank is a recognition of the Party, State and Army for the contribution process of the individual comrade; and at the same time shows concern in building a contingent of military officers with qualities, capacity, prestige, and meeting task requirements in the new situation.
Major General Dinh Hong Tieng was born in 1975, native of Da Nang City; currently a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Military Command of Lam Dong province.
Previously, he held the position of Commander of the Dak Nong Provincial Military Command (old).
