Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has just signed and issued Resolution No. 1668/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Can Tho city in 2025.
The National Assembly Standing Committee decides to reorganize to establish commune-level administrative units of Can Tho city as follows:
The wards include: Ninh Kieu, Cai Khe, Tan An, An Binh, Thoi An Dong, Binh Thuy, Long Tuyen, Cai Rang, Hung Phu, O Mon, Phuoc Thoi, Thoi Long, Trung Nhut, Thuan Hung, Thot Not, Vi Thanh, Vi Thanh, Long Binh, Long My, Long Phu 1, Dai Thanh, Nga Bay, Phu Loi, Soc Trang, My Xuyen, Vinh Phuoc, Vinh Chau, Khanh Hoa, Nga Nam, My Quoi.
The communes include: Phong Dien, Nhon Ai, Thoi Lai, Dong Thuan, Truong Xuan, Truong Thanh, Co Do, Dong Hiep, Trung Hung, Vinh Thanh, Vinh Trinh, Thanh An, Thanh Quoi, Hoa Luu, Vi Thuy, Vinh Thuan Dong, Vi Thanh 1, Vinh Tuong, Vinh Vien, Xa Phien, Luong Tam, Thanh Xuan, Tan Hoa, Truong Long Tay, Chau Thanh, Dong Phuoc commune, Phu Huu, Tan Binh, Hoa An, Phuong Binh, Tan Phuoc Hung, Hiep Hung, Phung Hiep;

After the arrangement, Can Tho city has 103 commune-level administrative units, including 31 wards and 72 communes; including 30 wards, 65 communes formed after the arrangement and 8 commune-level administrative units that do not undergo the arrangement are Tan Loc ward, Truong Long, Thanh Phu, Thoi Hung, Phong Nam, My Phuoc, Lai Hoa, Vinh Hai communes.
This Resolution takes effect from the date of approval (June 16).
The competent authorities urgently carry out necessary preparations to ensure that local authorities in commune-level administrative units formed after the arrangement prescribed in Article 1 of this Resolution officially operate from July 1, 2025.
Local authorities in commune-level administrative units before the reorganization will continue to operate until the local government in commune-level administrative units is formed after the reorganization and officially operates.
The Government, the People's Council, the People's Committee of Can Tho City, local authorities, administrative units related to the implementation of the arrangement and other relevant agencies and organizations are responsible for organizing the implementation of this Resolution.
Arrange and stabilize the apparatus of local agencies and organizations; stabilize the lives of local people, ensure the requirements of socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area.
Assign the Government, based on this Resolution and Project No. 371/DA-CP of the Government, to organize the accurate determination of the natural area of commune-level administrative units and publicly announce it before September 30.
At the same time, urgently deploy the work of measuring and determining the boundary scope of administrative units on the field to prepare documents on the boundary of administrative units according to regulations.
