On the afternoon of October 20, Party Central Committee member and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh chaired a press conference on the expected agenda of the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.
Issues related to the North-South high-speed railway project have received attention and questions from reporters.
Responding to this issue, Mr. Phan Duc Hieu - Standing Member of the National Assembly's Economic Committee - said that the investment policy dossier for the North-South high-speed railway project was submitted by the Government yesterday (October 19).
The Economic Committee will coordinate with the National Assembly agencies to carefully examine this content.
Mr. Phan Duc Hieu added that because the Government has just submitted the project, all contents regarding capital, land for the project and other important contents are currently unclear.
"However, the Economic Committee determined that the review of the investment policy for the North-South high-speed railway project is extremely important, so it will take a lot of time to carry out" - the Standing Member of the Economic Committee of the National Assembly emphasized.
Also at the press conference, Mr. Vu Minh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Office - said that at the 8th session, the National Assembly will consider and decide on the investment policy for the North-South high-speed railway project.
With the same content, Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh informed that the National Assembly is expected to listen to the report and discuss and give opinions on the investment policy of the North-South high-speed railway project on November 13, 2024.
"If we receive high consensus, we will vote to approve the policy on the closing day - November 30" - said the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.
