On February 20, the 8th term People's Council of Quang Tri province held its 29th session. At the session, the submission of the Provincial People's Committee on reorganizing specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee was reviewed; reviewed the review report of the Provincial People's Council Legal Committee and the discussion opinions of the People's Council delegates at the session.
The Provincial People's Council has passed a Resolution to establish and reorganize specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee.
Accordingly, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions will be established on the basis of reorganizing the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee to receive additional functions and tasks, and organize the state management apparatus of religion from the Department of Religions under the Department of Home Affairs.
In addition to the establishment, specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee will be reorganized in the form of a merger. Specifically, merge the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance into the Department of Finance; merge the Department of Transport and the Department of Construction into the Department of Construction; merge the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development into the Department of Agriculture and Environment; merge the Department of Information and Communications and the Department of Science and Technology into the Department of Science and Technology; merge the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and the Department of Home Affairs into the Department of Home Affairs.
Quang Tri will also reorganize specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee in the form of adjusting functions and tasks: The Department of Education and Training receives the state management function of vocational education from the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs transferred; The Department of Health receives the state management function of social protection, children, and prevention of social evils (except for the task of state management of drug addiction treatment and post-drug addiction management) transferred from the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism receives the state management function of press, publishing; radio and television; electronic information; news; basic information and information from the Department of Information and Communications; The Department of Labor and Social Affairs receives the task of implementing the Department of Drug Enforcement and Management of the Department of Public Security transferred from the Department of Public Security to the Department of Public Security; the Department of Public Security transferred to the Department of Public Security; the Department of Public Security transferred to the Department of Public Security; the Department of Public Security transferred to the Department of Public Security to the Department of Public Security.
After being established and reorganized according to regulations, specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee will officially come into operation from March 1, 2025.
