On January 20, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) held the first meeting of the Presidium of the 10th tenure, 2024-2029, in a combination of online and in-person formats.
Mr. Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front chaired the conference.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien emphasized that the conference focused on discussing the report on the implementation results of Resolution 18-NQ/TW of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The conference also listened to information on the country's socio-economic situation and outstanding activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in 2024 and key tasks in 2025; at the same time, the conference also gave opinions on personnel work.
At the conference, Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha presented the report of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on introducing personnel to join the Committee, the Presidium and hold the position of Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024-2029.
Accordingly, based on the announcement of the Secretariat on the transfer and introduction of Mr. Tran Viet Truong, former Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, for the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to consult and elect to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024-2029 (in Official Dispatch No. 13160 - CV/VPTW dated January 17, 2025 of the Central Office of the Party);
Based on the number of members of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front approved by the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, implementing the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Standing Committee reports to the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for comments on the consultation to elect Mr. Tran Viet Truong to join the Committee, the Presidium and hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th term, 2024-2029.
Pursuant to the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the conference discussed and agreed to submit to the Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for consultation to elect Mr. Tran Viet Truong, member of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, former Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City to join the Central Committee, the Presidium and hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term X, 2024-2029.
Mr. Tran Viet Truong was born on April 15, 1971, Kinh ethnic group. Hometown: Tan Phuoc Hung commune, Phung Hiep district, Hau Giang province. Education: Electrical - electronic engineer; Bachelor of politics; Master of political science; Doctor of military science. High level of political education.
Current position: Member of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Before being introduced to join the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Mr. Tran Viet Truong held the following positions: Secretary of the Can Tho City Youth Union, Secretary of Ninh Kieu District, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Can Tho City Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee. Since 2020, he has held the position of Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee.
