The congress took place in a solemn atmosphere, with the participation of 426 delegates representing all walks of life in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the first conference of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) in Ho Chi Minh City, term 2024-2029, 18 members were unanimously elected to the Standing Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, term XI, continued to be elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, term XII.
The 4 new full-time Vice Chairmen are all Vice Chairmen of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, term XI, including: Nguyen Thanh Trung, Ngo Thanh Son, Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy and Pham Minh Tuan; 7 part-time Vice Chairmen and 6 standing members.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc thanked the congress for consulting and unanimously electing members to join the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, term XII.

The 12th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City, term 2024-2029, has the theme "Promoting the strength of great national unity, strengthening democracy, competing to build and develop a civilized, modern, and affectionate Ho Chi Minh City".
Speaking at the opening of the congress, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Phuoc Loc emphasized that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress of Ho Chi Minh City is a broad political activity of the entire City Fatherland Front system, an event that contributes to raising awareness of the value and spirit of great national unity and building a great national unity bloc.
Thereby, continuing to affirm the position, role and mission of the Vietnam Fatherland Front system in Ho Chi Minh City as the core in building the great national unity bloc, launching patriotic emulation movements, making an important contribution to the cause of building and developing Ho Chi Minh City.
Over the past 5 years, Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country have experienced many challenges, especially the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters, but the spirit of mutual love and support of the people has been clearly demonstrated.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City quickly launched a movement calling for the joint efforts of the whole society to repel the pandemic, affirming the spirit of solidarity in the community.
Recently, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City has organized many activities to support people in the Northern provinces affected by storm No. 3. Nearly 500 tons of goods have been delivered to people in the North through the contributions of many organizations and individuals.
Currently, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City continues to report to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to continue coordinating and supporting localities to repair and build new schools, essential works, repair houses, support livestock and seedlings to help people stabilize their lives soon.
