This morning (December 26), in Hanoi, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense held the 2024 Military-Political Conference for the entire army. Politburo member and President Luong Cuong attended and directed the conference.
General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense - chaired the conference. Also attending the conference were members of the Party Central Committee, leaders of a number of departments, ministries, branches, heads of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; commanders of agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense.
In his opening speech, on behalf of the Central Military Commission and the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang emphasized that today's conference has the task of summarizing and evaluating the results of the implementation of military and defense tasks in 2024; at the same time, proposing synchronous and practical tasks and solutions, creating strong breakthroughs, and determined to strive to excellently complete military and defense tasks in 2025.
The focus is on the results of strategic consultation on military, national defense, combat readiness, training, education and training, Party building; implementing the 2024 theme "The year of basically completing the adjustment of force organization towards being lean, compact, and strong" and 16 key tasks that the Central Military Commission and the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense have identified for the 2020-2025 term.
General Phan Van Giang asked delegates to promote a sense of responsibility, true democracy and innovation, focus on research, discussion, and contribute quality opinions to evaluate outstanding results, limitations, shortcomings and causes; and propose practical solutions to successfully carry out the tasks of 2025.
2025 is a year with many major anniversaries for the Party and the country: the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; the year of Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress.
General Phan Van Giang believes that the success of the conference is of great significance, serving as a driving force to encourage the entire army to accelerate and break through, determined to complete and excellently complete all the goals and tasks of the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress of the Army, contributing together with the entire Party and people to firmly protect the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the new period.
According to the program, the conference will take place all day on December 26.
