On July 25, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam issued Decision No. 1197/QD-CTN on posthumously awarding the Medal of Courage to Sergeant Kpa Thiep - former Soldier, Guards Platoon, Staff Department, Infantry Regiment 28, Division 10, Army Corps 34, Ministry of National Defense, for his courageous actions, regardless of danger, rescuing victims, contributing to spreading the noble image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new era.
Sergeant Kpa Thiep was born on March 7, 2006 in Chu Se commune, Gia Lai province. Right from when he was a student, Kpa Thiep soon formed in himself a sense of civic responsibility and the ideals of a young man of the Ho Chi Minh era, dreaming of becoming a heroic Vietnamese People's Army soldier to serve the Fatherland and serve the People.
Although the family circumstances are still difficult, the family mainly relies on farming, 2 young children (the first child born in 2022, the second child born in 2025), but with the desire to realize his ideal of dedication, in February 2025, Kpa Thiep enthusiastically enlisted in the army, honored and proud to fulfill his civic responsibility for the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
After completing new soldier training at Company 1, Battalion 1, Regiment 28, Kpa Thiep was assigned to work at Battalion 3, Guards Platoon, Staff Department, Regiment 28, Division 10.

On July 19, 2026, Senior Sergeant Kpa Thiep was granted a standard leave in 2026 by the Regiment. During the leave, Senior Sergeant Kpa Thiep always thoroughly grasped and strictly complied with State laws, military discipline, unit regulations and local customs and habits; actively helped his family farm and develop the economy.
At 12:00 on July 20, 2026, in Tai Per village, Ia Ko commune, Gia Lai province, Sergeant Kpa Thiep discovered 2 people in danger due to an electrical incident. With courage, regardless of danger, the comrade quickly rushed in to rescue 2 people (Rmah Viet, born in 1999, Rah Lan HNom, born in 1996), currently 2 people have recovered their health.
However, during the rescue operation, Senior Sergeant Kpa Thiep, although he had rescued 2 people, unfortunately was electrocuted and fainted. Although he was urgently taken to the emergency room by people and functional forces, Senior Sergeant Kpa Thiep died at 1 pm on the same day.
The courageous action of Sergeant Kpa Thiep is a bright symbol of revolutionary heroism, a spirit of courage, willingness to forget oneself to protect the lives of the people; contributing to embellishing the tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and shining the image and noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new era.
