Hungarian President and President attend the opening of the Hungarian photographer's photo exhibition

President Luong Cuong affirmed that the photos at the exhibition are invaluable assets, Hungarian affection for the Vietnamese people.

On the afternoon of May 28 at Metropole Hotel, Hanoi, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and his wife, along with Hungarian President Sulyok Tamas and his wife attended the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition organized by the Hungarian Embassy in Vietnam, displaying works by Hungarian doctor - photographer Bozoky Dezso.

Mr.zok Boy Dezso (1871-1957) served in the Austrian-Hung Navy as a Navy doctor.

During 1909, he reached the East Asia region on the Hungarian-A Russian warship named Franz Joseph I. This trip of his lasted 16 months, starting from Pula port in Croatia, passing through the Suez Canal and Red Sea to Ceylon Island (Sri Lanka) and from there to the most important ports of China, South Korea and Japan.

On the way back to his hometown after a period of working as a Navy doctor, Mr. Bozoky Dezso visited Vietnam. The ship he served stopped on the Saigon River and that was the opportunity for this photographer to explore the most important city of Indochina at that time, Saigon.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Hungarian President Sulyok Tamas emphasized that this special photo exhibition is a testament to the fact that the two peoples of Hungary and Vietnam had known each other long before the two countries established diplomatic relations, especially the Hungarian people who had known the country and people of Vietnam worth paying tribute to through photos from the early 20th century.

The Hungarian leader said that Dr. Bozoky Dezso had a deep impression of the country of Vietnam that he witnessed at that time, experienced and took photos to save for future generations.

President Sulyok Tamas shared that it is a fortune for generations of people from both countries today to admire the mark of an ancient moment of this beautiful country at a time when very few images were left. That is the invaluable spiritual value that these photos bring.

After listening to the President's sincere statements and cutting the exhibition opening ribbon, President Luong Cuong affirmed that the photos at the exhibition are invaluable assets.

The President thanked the Hungarian Government and people, the family of Dr. Bozoky Dezso for preserving the photos, and that is also Hungary's affection for the Vietnamese people.

The President emphasized that the exhibition opened at a time of many meanings, on the occasion of the two countries to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and also the occasion for the President and Lady to officially visit Vietnam.

The exhibition helps today's generations of Vietnamese people better understand the context of the early 20th century where the previous generation lived and worked.

With sincere affection, the President presented to the President of the guitar and affirmed the material value, though not great, it was the enthusiasm due to the creative Vietnamese labor process. The unique guitar has only one string but has all the supply, steps, and bass of music.

The President's wife expressed her emotions, appreciation and thank you for President Luong Cuong's gift.
