VNA reported that within the framework of the official visit to Senegal, on the afternoon of July 23 local time, in the capital Dakar, Senegal, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and National Assembly Chairman Senegal Malick Ndiaye attended the Policy Forum to promote Vietnam - Senegal cooperation, an important event to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The Senegalese parliamentary president said that bilateral trade has many prospects for development this year. Vietnam is a strategic trade partner of Senegal, especially in the agricultural sector. Currently, Senegal is importing about 10% of its rice from Vietnam and mainly exports cashews, seafood, fish flour, animal feed, etc. to Vietnam.
Vietnam with its strong industrialization is becoming a source of inspiration for many southern countries, including Senegal. Currently, in the context of the region and the world facing many difficulties and challenges, countries including Vietnam and Senegalese must further strengthen solidarity and support each other, in line with the spirit of "if you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together" - Chairman of the Senegalese National Assembly emphasized.

Expressing his impression of the opening speech of Senegalese National Assembly Chairman Malick Ndiaye, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the advantages and potential for cooperation between the two countries are huge. Vietnam has many strengths that can be cooperated with Senegal, especially in the fields of agriculture; telecommunications; digital infrastructure; mining; aquaculture; construction and investment in infrastructure.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that the National Assemblies of the two countries increase support for Vietnamese enterprises to invest in Senegal; call on Vietnamese enterprises to Senegal, and at the same time hope that the National Assembly of Senegal will create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to have investment opportunities here.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man hopes that the agreements signed between ministries, branches, enterprises and corporations of the two countries will soon be realized through specific cooperation programs in the coming time.

At the seminar, delegates shared about seeking investment cooperation opportunities as well as new directions for cooperation between the two sides in the coming time.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Mau, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, said that Vietnam has implemented many projects in developing countries with the mission of transferring agricultural science - technology - engineering to support those countries in developing the agricultural sector, ensuring food security and moving towards export.
Vietnam can help African countries develop projects, master plans for agricultural land, detailed plans for land use, cooperate in scientific and technical research on agriculture; organize training courses in Vietnam or in host countries to improve the capacity of agricultural extension officers, managers, and policy makers.
Representatives of ministries, branches and businesses of Senegal said that with its strategic position in West Africa, dynamic economy and political stability, Senegal is emerging as an economic center of the region; wishing to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in areas such as agriculture, aquaculture, processing industry, renewable energy and information technology.
