At the invitation of President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Tulia Ackson, IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco Rachid Talbi Alami and President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Senegal El Malick Ndiaye, Politburo member, President of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, on behalf of the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, along with Vietnamese women and a high-ranking delegation to attend the 6th Conference of World Assembly Chairmen in Switzerland; conduct bilateral activities in Switzerland; pay an official visit to Morocco and Senegal from July 22 to 30.
The World Assembly Chairmen's Conference is a special and highest-level mechanism established by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in close coordination with the United Nations, to create a global forum for heads of legislative bodies of countries to exchange views, promote parliamentary cooperation, contribute legislative voice to solving global issues, and coordinate actions and support the United Nations.
The 6th Conference of National Assembly Chairmen will take place from July 29 to 31, 2025 at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The theme of this conference is A world in chaos: Parliamentary cooperation and multilateralism for peace, fairness and prosperity for all people with the main contents: (i) Promoting effective and inclusive multilateralism; peace, security and military deployment; the role of parliamentary bodies of countries in implementing the 2030 Parliamentary Program for Sustainable Development; United Nations Documents for the Future and Global Digital Document; Human rights, gender equality, social Inclusion and the role of youth; (ii) Providing solutions to address emerging global issues such as climate change, ecological crises...; (iii) Strengthening the role of parliamentary bodies in global governance, new technologies and artificial intelligence.
