According to the Vietnam National Assembly Electronic Information Portal, on the morning of July 23 local time, at the headquarters of the Senegalese National Assembly in the capital Dakar, National Assembly Chairman of Senegal El Malick Ndiaye welcomed Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on an official visit to the Senegalese Republic.
National Assembly Chairman El Malick Ndiaye invited National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to the position of honor. The military band played the national anthems of the two countries. After that, the two National Assembly Chairmen approved the Honor Guard.

Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met and held talks with National Assembly Chairman El Malick Ndiaye.

This is the first official visit of a key Vietnamese leader to Senegal in nearly 60 years of relations between the two countries. In recent times, cooperation between the two countries' National Assemblies has been mainly implemented through multilateral mechanisms such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Francophone Parliamentary Union (APF) and at multilateral conferences organized by the Vietnamese National Assembly (such as the APF Education, Communications, Culture Committee Conference and Women's Network in 2019, IPU-132 Congress in 2015...).
The First Vice President of the Sen Senate attended the APF Executive Committee Conference in January 2025 in Can Tho city.
The visit to Senegal by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man is of special significance in strengthening political trust, further deepening friendship, creating momentum to promote multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Senegal, including cooperation with the National Assembly, creating a legal framework for the governments and businesses of the two countries to promote cooperation in the coming time.
