On the morning of February 28, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man led a working delegation of the National Election Council to inspect the preparation for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels, term 2026 - 2031 in Nghe An province.
The working delegation inspected the voting area in Phuc Long hamlet, Hung Nguyen commune; directly reviewed the voting room instruction diagram, the listing area and summary biography of the National Assembly deputy candidate; listened to reports on the progress of task implementation according to the plan.
At the inspection, the National Assembly Chairwoman acknowledged the proactive and serious spirit of the locality in the preparation work, and at the same time requested absolutely not to be subjective, not to miss any procedures throughout the election organization process.
The National Assembly Chairwoman requested the Election Commission of Nghe An province and the Election Commission of Hung Nguyen commune to firmly grasp the guiding documents and materials of the National Election Council; thoroughly grasp so that each cadre participating in serving the election understands the tasks, and implements regulations and procedures correctly.
Along with that, localities need to promote propaganda and mobilization to help voters understand the meaning and importance of Election Day; promote citizens' rights and obligations, and select typical and worthy delegates to represent the will and aspirations of the people.
The National Assembly Chairwoman noted to create maximum favorable conditions for voters to vote directly; carefully review specific voter groups such as people working far away, outgoing voters, elderly people... ensuring that no one is missed out on the right to vote.
At the same time, emphasizing the requirement to link election work with ensuring political security, social order and safety; developing plans to ensure absolute security and order; proactively preventing and promptly handling acts of sabotage, distortion, causing instability.
The National Assembly Chairwoman requested provincial leaders to continue to strengthen comprehensive leadership and direction of election work; promote the role of the entire political system, ensure correct and sufficient elections, and organize democratic, lawful, safe and successful elections.
Immediately after the actual inspection, the working delegation worked with the Nghe An Provincial Election Commission and the Truong Vinh Ward Election Commission to assess the implementation of Directive 46 and the Politburo's conclusions on the leadership of the election, along with the plans and guiding documents of the National Election Council.
